Stayed at the Ice Hotel, Tree Hotel and Arctic Bath Hotel. 2 nights each. Great location in the trees for the Treehotel. Stayed in the 7th Room and the Biosphere. Both very well designed and innovative. Food was good but could be better. Breakfast is very basic. The staff at the restaurant (Maya and her manager) were very friendly and made the stay more memorable. But not recommended for the elderly especially in winter, because of the risk of falling on the foot paths and also ladders to get to the loft space. Check in was disappointing as we were not shown to our rooms and were "invited" to walk on the snowy footpaths from the reception to find our rooms in the forest (not easy if it's the first time and not nearby and with kids and elderly) and not given an orientation, though they did separately move our luggage. While the partners they work with for excursions are not part of the hotel, it leaves a very bad association when their partners aren't good. We had an aurora tour scheduled, but the provider did not cancel or reschedule despite knowing many hours earlier that it would be a very cloudy night with no possibility of seeing the northern lights at all. Profits over "doing the right thing"! Contrast this with another provider (Hide & See at another hotel) who unilaterally and graciously canceled another northern lights excursion because of clouds and gave us the option of a refund or rescheduling to the next night (which we did and it was amazing).
